What is an ‘ECO’ Grant?
The Energy Company Obligation (ECO) is a government scheme which aims to help home occupiers to make their home more energy efficient. By making their home more energy efficient, households use less energy and save money on their energy bills.
The ECO funding can be divided in three different ‘parts’:
The Carbon Emissions Reduction Obligation (CERO)
This type of government funding focuses mainly on home insulation such as solid wall insulation and cavity wall insulation.
The Carbon Saving Community Obligation (CSCO)

The Home Heating Cost Reduction Obligation (HHCRO)
This part of the ECO scheme funds products that help low income and vulnerable households heat their homes affordably.

Homeowners and private tenants in the UK can be eligible for a grant to replace their old, inefficient boiler with a brand new A-rated boiler under the Energy Company Obligation (ECO). ECO is a Government scheme which aims to help people make their home more energy efficient by installing energy efficient products such as a new energy saving boiler.
To qualify you need to live in England, Scotland or Wales, have a low household income and are in receipt of certain benefits. Your boiler must also be over 5 years old or have an existing fault and it needs replacing.

**Saving estimations as published by The Energy Saving Trust UK. Average £570 savings a year based on replacing a G-rated boiler ( G < 70%) in a detached house with an A-rated boiler in a detached house. Savings will vary depending on the size and thermal performance of your home.
